YBT250 PC Based Applications Version 1.688 - Brazilian Portuguese Localizied Version

This installation utility installs the following PC desktop applications:

- PC desktop version of the YBT250 NetTek Field Transmitter and Interference Tester
- PC desktop version of the RF Scout Interference Hunter
- iMap Converter utility

The PC desktop versions of YBT250 and RF Scout are the same applications that run on the NetTek
platform, with minor changes due to differences in the Windows CE and desktop Windows operating
systems.

These desktop utilities run on Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP systems only.

Installation
------------

1) Unpack the ZIP file downloaded from the web.
2) Run YBT250PC_setup_v1-688_por.exe and follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installation wizard.

YBT250 / RF Scout PC Desktop Applications
-----------------------------------------

The main difference in capabilities between the Desktop and NetTek of these applications is that the
Desktop version cannot communicate with the YBT250 module. Therefore, it cannot make real measurements.

However, it does have some very useful capabilities in spite if this significant limitation.

1)	All measurements can be run, and simulated results are produced by the applications.
2)	Results saved by either application (Desktop or NetTek) can be recalled and
viewed by either. Since the result files are in a propietary format, this is significant.
3)	Saved setups can be created by the Desktop version and used by either versions.
4)	Results (simulated or recalled) can be exported, or printed from the Desktop version.
This opens up a much wider range of printers than supported by the NetTek.
5)	All options are available free of charge in the Desktop versions.

From the capabilities listed above, several usages are suggested:

1)	Since all measurements can be run (with simulated results produced), the Desktop versions
can be used for demonstrations, training, or procedure development when a NetTek with a
module is not available.
2)	Results produced by the NetTek versions can be viewed, and exported or printed without
having the NetTek unit available. A technician can save all results in the "save results"
format (which is more space efficient than export results), and then later use
the Desktop version to view, export, or print these results. The files can be transferred
to the workstation from the NetTek using one of several methods:
a) drag and drop using Explorer and Active Sync b) via floppy disk or c) via memory card.
3)	Setups for use in standard procedures could be developed without the need for a NetTek. The
setup files created by the Desktop versions can be transferred to the NetTek and used directly.
4)	Evaluation of optional features can be done, since all options can be easily enabled in
the Desktop versions, without the need to purchase the optional features (as with NetTek).

Notes on special folder locations:

1)	Result and setup files are stored in subdirectories under the Desktop install directory, by
default. Results will be found in the results subdirectory, and setup files will be found
in the settings subdirectory. Of course, one can save or restore results and setups from any
directory.

2)	If you have user files such as UserStandards.txt that go in \BuiltinDisk on the NetTek,
you need to put them in a special directory that the install has created. This is usually
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Tektronix\YBCommon". If you do not find it there search for
YBCommon on your drive(s). In previous releases, this was always set to "C:\BuiltinDisk".

Other limitations inherent in the Desktop versions of these applications:

1)	No Menu Bar. The desktop Windows operating systems do not provide this component, so the
buttons that, on NetTek, are on the same line as the menu, are on a separate line in the
Desktop version.
2)	Export Screen in png format is only supported for 256 color (8 bits per pixel) and 24 bit
color modes. 16 bit and 32 bit color are not supported. Export Screen in bmp and jpg format
are supported for all color modes.
3)	The Desktop versions will not run on the Windows 95/98/ME operating systems.
4)	There is no correlation between the measurement results produced by different measurement
screens.
5)	The Desktop versions do not support changing the Windows color scheme. It was developed with
the "Classic" color scheme in mind, and looks best when that scheme is in use.
6)	The Desktop versions are an application running on a desktop (or laptop) workstation. It
does not need a NetTek to run, nor does it communicate with a NetTek if one is connected
(e.g. via ActiveSync). It is a stand-alone application.
7)	Some combinations of display resolution and font size (i.e., large and small) do not work
well for the Desktop versions. If you have problems, change the resolution and/or font size.

iMap Converter Utility
----------------------

The iMap Converter utility converts industry-standard geographic coordinate maps, as well as bitmap
images, into GSF format files.  The program also lets you combine multiple map files into a single map.
Once converted to GSF format, the resulting map can be copied to the NetTek for use by the RF Scout
iMap tool.

Industry standard map formats that can be converted to GSF format includes the following:

- USGS DLG (.opt)
- MapInfo (.mif)
- ArcInfo Shape (.shp)
- 256 color Bitmap (.bmp)

Note that although the RF Scout application iMap tool does support MIF and BMP format maps, due to performance
reasons GSF is the preferred format.

NOTE: The iMap Converter utility is available in an English localizied version only.
