Description

PC based install utility for upgrading the Y400 NetTek platform SW to a Brazilian Portuguese language localized version. This utility runs resident on a desktop PC updating a Y400 NetTek platform connected to the desktop PC via an RS232 serial or USB connection. The download consists of the installation utility and detailed instructions on performing the upgrade. See the release notes for additional details.

New Features And Fixes For This Release
---------------------------------------

* Support for the new Y400 Platform HW version 0.2 (backwards compatible with version 0.1).
* Improved support for USB flash memory devices.

NOTE: The Inbox and Media Player features are no longer available for the Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean localized versions of the Y400 NetTek Software.

Installation
------------

Due to memory restrictions, the Y400 NetTek Analyzer platform can only be localized to a single language. Separate SW upgrade installation utilities are available to install the operating system for each of the following localizations; English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

WARNING: Upgrading the Y400 NetTek Analyzer SW will result in a full system reset of the platform. All user installed applications, measurement results data, platform option keys, etc., will be lost.

To get started, complete the following steps:

1. From the Tektronix web page, download the Y400 NetTek Analyzer upgrade archive for the desired localization. Place this ZIP archive file in a folder on the desktop PC that will be used to perform the upgrade.
2. Unzip the ZIP archive. For the English localized version, contents included in the ZIP archive will be:
* Readme.pdf (this file in PDF form)
* PlatformUpgrades.pdf (complete instructions for performing the upgrade)
* nettek2207_enu.exe (upgrade installation utility)
3. Follow the instructions in the PlatformUpgrades.pdf file.

System Requirements
-------------------

The NetTek Analyzer operating system upgrade installation process has been verified to run on the following desktop PC platforms:

* Windows 98 - RS232 serial download method only
* Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6) - RS232 serial download method only
* Windows 2000 - RS232 serial and USB download methods
* Windows XP - RS232 serial and USB download methods

Other desktop PC platform configurations may work but have not been tested.

Additional Desktop PC Requirements:

* Available RS232 serial (must support up to 115k baud) or USB port
* 100 MB free disk space (temporary usage only)
* Pentium Processor or better
